EXECUTIVE POSITIONS
Four of our long serving executive members have indicated they would like to pass on the proverbial torch with their "retirement" from minor hockey. Please review the job listings and consider helping out. Without volunteers, hockey would not exist. 

The following positions are becoming available at the end of this season... 


Ice Convenor
The Ice Convenor shall:
o   Schedule, assign (in a fair and equitable manner in both facilities) and cancel in a timely manner (as set out in the ice rental contract) all ice times for all Association events; 
o   Work in liaison with the City of Kawartha Lakes Parks and Recreation Department and all relevant executive; 
o   Maintain a current ice usage log for all Association teams; 
o   Co-ordinate all ice activities with the OMHA Rep, Three County, House League Director and Tournament Convenors.
o   Audit all ice invoices submitted to the Association and provide the Treasurer with the invoice including any necessary adjustments; 
o   Be a member of the Budget Committee; 
o   Be a member of the Coaches Selection Committee; 
o   Attend monthly meetings of the Executive; 
 
 
Director of Player Development 
The Player Development Lead is responsible for providing leadership and to support SLMHA Hockey in all areas of player development. 
o   The Director of Player development will be key in enabling SLMHA Hockey to offer programs for all Competitive, Three County and our Introduction to hockey programs. 
o   The individual will bring forward the widest possible funnel of athletes and coaches and focus them in a common direction; improving player skill and greatly enhancing the consistency and overall hockey experience. 
o   Qualified candidates should possess a strong communication, organizational, motivation, teaching, and coaching skills. 
o   Player evaluation and team selection support.
o   Share Tournament successes, past experiences will assist coaches with their season planning.
o   Attend monthly meetings of the Executive.
 
 
Head Trainer Position  
Sturgeon Lake Minor Hockey are looking for an Association Head Trainer. 
The Head Trainer will: 
o   Hold a current HTCP certification.
o   Follow, enforce a concussion and return to play protocol for all SLMHA players. 
o   Keep an accurate and up to date record log of all diagnosed concussions / major and minor injuries. 
o   Be willing to act as a mentor/ coach for all trainers in the association. 
o   Be on an at-large or team roster with the association.
o   Have a strong interest in promoting safety in hockey.
o   Liaison with the OMHA Chair of Trainers Program/ OMHA Regional Safety Leaders. 
o   Prepare safety briefing (i.e., emergency phone locations, AEDs, etc.) for distribution to team trainers, and availability for visiting teams. 
o   Communicate with all active trainers. 
o   Organize pre-season safety meeting with all trainers.
o   Collect, monitor and ensure proper security and disposition of reporting forms relating to illness or injury for on and off-ice incidents resulting in injury to a player, volunteer, team official, or on-ice official.  Ensure all trainers have collected necessary information and medical forms from players/parents.
o   Attend monthly meetings of the Executive.

Communications Director
The Communications Director shall: be responsible for ensuring the website is updated regularly; 
o   Be responsible for assigning website user names and passwords to each team contact; 
o   Be responsible for updating the bulletin boards in each arena monthly with any new information from the Executive; 
o   Act as Public Relations Officer (ie: press releases); 
o   Assist in the organizing of the annual awards day; 
o   Attend monthly meetings of the Executive.
