The Sturgeon Lake Minor Hockey Association is urgently looking for a volunteer to join our Executive in the
Treasurer Position.
You can help us help our skaters through sound fiscal management…and of course we’ll help YOU transition to the position with the guidance of our outgoing treasurer!
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The TREASURER shall:
· keep an accurate, factual and up to date record of all costs, collections, accounts and other matters pertaining to the finances of the Association which shall be subject to annual audit and approval;
· keep a record of all monies received and disbursed, shall deposit all monies in the bank
· and shall make disbursements by CHEQUE or e transfer
· present at each meeting, a report of the financial position of the Association;
· sit on and be the Chairperson for the Budget Committee;
· be one of the signing officers
· present a report of the year’s operations at the SPRING general meeting and the annual
· financial statement;
· have a reviewed engagement report of ALL books prepared annually by a Chartered
· Accountant;
· be the Finance Officer for registration;
· ensure that all necessary and appropriate insurance has been purchased;
· attend monthly meetings of the Executive and be prepared to give an accurate financial statement;
Someone with a financial background would be ideal, but we will consider all applications.
